I would have to agree with you on that point, Severus.

And it is certainly the most logical choice.

But this sort of thing will not be solved in an evening, and planning while in the heat of the moment is an equally poor choice, so if we can't remove the temper, I suppose we can't begrudge the drink. At least not for now.
