I've just realised: With all the fuss and bother over Macnair and Snape, Frank and I forgot about taking Tide Turner to meet Aleks. Last communication I had from him he was putting together the shipment and planning to arrive at the drop point in the Channel early this morning.
Bugger.
I'm trying to locate an owl willing to attempt penetrating the wards, to let Aleks know what to do. Too bad the little one I found just when we left Hogwarts is off on another mission. Transfer of goods or no, Aleks still has to pay the captain and now he's got a load of cargo with nowhere to sell it. Buggery.
Moony, it also means Laszlo may run short on some of those delicacies you've been able to supply in the past.
But - for what it's worth, like Frank says, we had the two of them put their memories into the Pensieve today and spent a load of time watching them for all the details. I still don't think Snape's to be trusted any further than necessary but - well, for the moment, I guess he's got information we can use. Certainly can't have him going off on his own and getting caught and giving up what he now knows, that's for sure.
Kingsley took some hair from each of them: Emmeline and Benjy are going to appear, polyjuiced, somewhere in the West Country so that MLE will hare off there. Davidson's agreed to take them in for now.
And I'm off as well. I'll check back with Davidson in a week or two but .... there's something I've been putting off until Harry finished out the school year. So. Got to see to that business as I've let it go too long as it is.
