I made contact with John and he brought me to the safehouse where our refugees were waiting. As soon as it got dark we headed out. Taking a bit of a breather just now.

Frank, you didn't say the Dickersons are leaving because they're pregnant.

As for the other four, there's an older woman, Annette Lapay, who has family in France and thinks she can get them all to a safe place to stay. There's a married couple - actually they were married before the muggles lost their supremacy and they were separated in the camps, then found each other in service again, if you can believe that. There's a boy with them, about 9 years old or so. Arthur, he must be one of your missing muggleborns. Says his name's Ben Wickett. Sticks fairly close to Mr and Mrs Cauldwell.

Anyway, we've been on the move now it's dark but I just wanted to let everyone know we're safe so far.

It's dead amazing how fast one gets used to not sleeping alone.

Well, maybe someone else could pass the supplies along. Frank can Apparate, after all. Wouldn't take him but two ticks.

Still, even with the ginger tea the last few days...sea's very choppy. Don't expect that if I were to Apparate home myself, I'd be in much shape for a proper reunion.

Times like this I really want to get the bike back from Hagrid.

I'd be perfectly happy to have you sleeping like a log in bed next to me, and having a proper reunion another day. Don't make yourself ill on my account, though.

Is Hagrid using the bike? You could ask for it back. We could keep it in the drawing room, it would add immensely to the decor.

All right, we'll finish up in another five minutes and head home. If I can convince Frank, I can come back as soon as we've hidden the Hopeful.

Course, it's getting light soon. And we've got a couple hours' before we hit the shoreline. So it might be a bit longer (and I'm not saying that so you'll fret, worrier, but so you shan't if it is).

Hagrid's keeping the bike in good kit, I dunno as he's using it all that often. Don't suppose we could get Snivelly to trade him Buckbeak for it, could we?

Ah, but I'm not supposed to make contact again, am I? Poppy would have my paws on a platter.

And don't be silly, the bike belongs in the formal dining room, of course! The rugs in the drawing room are authentic Persians!

He can't possibly be using Buckbeak much given that he's hiding out at Hogwarts, pretending to be their current caretaker.

Come to think of it, where is Buckbeak? Certainly not here. Hagrid was always mad for animals, he'd probably consider it an excellent trade.

Maybe you'd better go 'round Minerva's house and make sure she hasn't had a hippogriff for a houseguest all this time?

Even better if she has: that'll be ONE MORE PERSON who'll owe us afterwards.

No, and Reg could always get him to do whatever he wanted, somehow. Nearly always. But he'd bend over backward to find a way not to obey me.

And I still think that might be the safest place for his head, if we really want to be sure.

I offered to bring the kid to moddey, but they've as good as adopted him and he seemed happy to be with them. and yeah, she didn't seem too far along. not so far that she couldn't make the trip.

We're all transferred and we're turning about to head back. May have to heel it, though; it's already starting to look pink out there and we're not exactly a local fishing boat, are we?

I'm going to take the sherwood their supplies up tomorrow. we'll be able to pass around wands to our big kids and still have enough left over to make davidson happy. wand supplies too, so Melly gets a nice christmas present.

Yes, well, all that can be sorted out after you have had a proper rest.

And Merlin help us, giving all eight wands in one go. I'm still debating whether we ought to hold off for another few months with this lot. Richard is level-headed enough, as is Tim and Tricia, but Finbar? Lisa and Portia need a bit more time to catch up on their studies, and I'm completely unsure how Nicky and Zach will react. But if we give one to Richard, we can't not give one to Finbar. And then the rest will be wanting one too.

Do you think it'll be safe?

that's up to arabella to decide, after we've had a chance to say our piece.

I think we won't know for sure until we try. so waiting just puts off trying a little longer, is all.

That's another thing I'm worried about. I want them to take their time. To learn how to be safe, and how to protect themselves, and I don't want them to think they're in any way ready to be on their own just because they've got wands in hand, because they're not. Nowhere near.

I mean Finbar, mostly. And Tim and Tricia too. They can put on a mature face, but they're both still so very young. I'm worried they'll overestimate their chances on their own, or with a group like Sherwood. I don't think Richard would leave any time soon, he gets on so well with everyone, especially Danny, and doesn't seem like the type to want to go off and fight. But I worry. About them all, really.

As you no doubt can tell, seeing as how I'm blabbering on and on about it while we could just as easily talk in person once you get back safely.
