Order Only: Private Message to Regulus
May. 20th, 2015 05:32 pmHappy birthday.
I don't know if we could have done all this without your contribution but Merlin, I wish you'd stuck round to see it.
Then again who's to say what that would mean. If you were still here, there's every chance you'd be rallying with your old mates instead of helping to rebuild.
There was a meeting - there have been so many meetings - about honouring those who died so that Riddle could be killed. Mostly about Harry, Severus, Daphne - people who joined us along the way. You belong on that list only I don't know that you'd want to be counted.
And it's not even as if it's over. We have so much still to do. Camps are erupting all over the country; Bellatrix and Rowle are refusing to give in (not a surprise at all); we're holding on with both hands but there's no agreement yet on what the government should look like going forward.
I have to believe it will be worth what we lost. ThatHarry you everyone knew we could prevail as a result of their sacrifices, that even if things fall to shite after this, a world without Voldemort is a better one. That the way forward is to instill our new society with the values that comforted h them at the end.
I just wonder if I'll ever stop wondering if there could have been any other way to do it.
Mordred. Enough.
