Multiple fronts, yeah, but then we don't want to spread ourselves too thin. If Ireland's left a bad taste in people's mouth then now's a good time to get them thinking about rebellion.
Maybe a different word other than rebellion. That one's likely to conjure up images of being sunk into the sea.
